Starting Out

The great thing about running is that it doesn’t cost a fortune to get going.

If you get out of the door and run even a tiny bit, you are a runner. Knowing why you want to run, being pragmatic about your constraints and having some shoes to run in, are enough. So let’s get started.

Why am I doing this?

Just like life, its great to set some goals and ambitions for your running journey. These don't have to be and bold - but they can be if you want to. Anything that will get you out of the door and giving it a go. We will encourage you to set goals that are about the process not just about the outcome. One of the great things about having a running coach is that you are more likely to hit your goals if you are prepared to make them real and share them with others!

What constraints do I have?

You stand way more chance of meeting your goals if we are pragmatic about the constraints you have. Then we can build a running programme that works for you! How many times each week can you run, for how long? Do you prefer not run at night? Are only certain days available or can you only sneak in 30mins. All of these things are perfectly normal and we can build your plan to fit around them.

What do I need to get going?

The great thing about running is that yo don't need much to get started. A pair of running shoes, some clothes and a little bit of support is all it takes. If you get out of the door and run, then YOU are a runner! If you want advice on what to buy. Get a second opinion on that essential piece of kit, or you want to buy a present for a runner.
